COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS

At Outward Bound, safety and hygiene have always been on the top of our “must-have” list. And now we are closely watching the new research as it comes out on a daily basis and have deep dived into our SOPS. We’ve made a new list and  we're checking it more than twice. We will continue to review the latest information from health experts and government authorities, and will be passing along the most up-to-date and relevant information to you so you can plan accordingly.

Our Covid-19 Safe SOPs are based on the simple principles of ASSIST.
Dilshad with Puppy on Kuari Pass trek
You don't need any ski gear - we will provide you with everything you require to ski comfortably on the slopes (all you need to bring is your own ski gloves and googles). We usually stay at a hotel that is close to the ski slopes - after an exhausting day on the slopes the worst part is a long walk back to the hotel! A safety vehicle is always present and "apres-ski" usually entails snowball fights and "may the best snowman win" competitions!

If you've often thought "where can  I learn to ski in India?" well, then, you've come to the right place!

India's ace skiing instructor Akshay Kumar - expert skier and a national champion, will be your team leader. He will lead a team of instructors and guides who will teach you how to strap on those ski boots, slip on those skis and whizz down those slopes!

A Quick Look at Your Plan for the Next 6 Days

DAY 1: ARRIVE AT MANALI
Arrive at Manali. Your best option would be to fly into Bhuntar (Kullu) from where our OBI-H team will pick you up. Another option is to take the overnight Volvo from Delhi to Manali. Very comfortable and you're in Manali when you wake up!  If your schedule allows you to arrive a day earlier, that helps better with your acclimatization. You can also choose to fly in to Chandigarh and drive up to Manali (a 6 - 7 hour drive). Either ways, let us know how you plan to get there and we'll ensure your stay at Manali.

If you've arrived by the morning, then our first first stop over will be to kit ourselves so that we don't waste any time the next day.

Overnight at hotel on triple sharing basis.
DAY 2:  DRIVE MANALI - SKI SLOPES
It's just a 14 KM drive from Manali to Solang Valley and should take us around 40 min. We'll leave immediately after breakfast and head out to ski slopes for our first lesson.

Drive back to the hotel in the evening - at the end of a long tiring day!
DAY 3 - 5: ski course
You will be split up into groups of two or three each depending on your age and each group will be assigned an instructor. Lunch on the slopes.

Evening back at the hotel - time for some snowball wars!! Shower, change and head out for dinner.
DAY 6: time to leave!
There's an evening bus back from Manali every evening that reaches us to Delhi early morning or if you plan to fly out from Bhuntar then flight options start from the morning. Or, you could choose to drive to Chandigarh and fly back/ take the train from there back home. However you plan to do this, we will be happy to help you reach home safe. Supplement costs will apply.
