The mid teens often brings about a period of transition and change: moving into young adulthood, needing to make greater decisions, taking on responsibilities. Wanting challenge, adventure, self-reliance and a sense of accomplishment. This course can provide a contemporary ‘rite of passage’ and is an opportunity to uncover new strengths, build confidence, master new skills and develop personal leadership abilities.

Early morning departure from school. Arrival at Shivpuri camp, washroom break and drive towards Bagwan. Once at Bagwan there will be a hot lunch, before we do raft training which will also involve flip drill, swimming and body surfing.We will also learn the necessary camp craft, this will include how to set up raft shelters, toilet tents, fire lighting and cooking. All students will have opportunity to participate in all the camp craft activities. We will finish the day with a reflective debrief session around the camp fire after dinner.
Overnight in expedition shelters.
Early morning we will do some energiser before we start camp craft activites. After breakfast, load our rafts with all the equipment and following a safety briefing we will start our expedition. From today we will be moving self contained and carry all our food and camping equipment on board the rafts.
During the rafting there will be various projects based on photography, ideas, thoughts, sights, sounds and discoveries.
Our rafting section till Byas Ghat will take us approx 3/4 hours. We will stop on the way for a lunch break on a small beach. At Byas Ghat you will set up rafting shelters out of tarpaulin paddles and rafts.All students will participate in camp set up activities, including cooking and firewood collection. Dinner, bonfire, and reflections.
We will wind up camp early in the morning and assemble for breakfast. Post breakfast we will load our rafts with all the equipment and we will start our rafting. Today we hit a series of exciting rapids like Daniel Dip, The Wall. Cash Flow, Black Money, Three Blind Mice and Return to Sender. Once at camp, clean and return the equipment, overnight at base camp.
(Note: The decision to run ‘The Wall’ will be taken by the trip leader depending on water levels and group dynamics. This is binding for all. Non swimmers will be required to walk around ‘The Wall.’)
We will assemble for early breakfast and will raft the section between Shivpuri to Rishikesh. We will leave the camp for NIM Beach with big volume, Ganga white water "Roller Coaster" & Golf Course. Picnic lunch on the beach. The day will close with a group review session. Brief visit to Ramjhula market and return to school.
